    SEE ALSO...

CLPTM1 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects cleft lip- and palate-associated transmembrane protein 1 (CLPTM1) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLPTM1 plays a crucial role in the development of the oral-facial region, and proper function is essential for normal embryonic development, particularly in preventing cleft lip and palate, which are among the most common congenital anomalies. CLPTM1 is located in the cell membrane, where CLPTM1 is involved in cellular signaling pathways that regulate cell proliferation and apoptosis. Understanding CLPTM1 localization is vital, as disruptions in CLPTM1 function can lead to developmental disorders and may also influence the response to certain chemotherapeutic agents, highlighting CLPTM1′s importance in both developmental biology and cancer research. Anti-CLPTM1 antibody (C-2) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the molecular mechanisms underlying cleft formation and potential therapeutic targets for related conditions.

The predicted molecular weight of CLPTM1 is 76kDa, why does it show a significant larger size on you WB?

    Asked by: Cecilia Drakskog
Thank you for your question. The western blot on the product page shows cells transfected with recombinant protein rather than endogenous expression. In non-transfected cells with endogenous expression, the antibody will detect the CLPTM1 at its molecular weight of 76 kDa.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398443 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
