Clock Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Clock protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Clock (C-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Clock protein, also called BHLHe8 or circadian locomoter output cycles protein kaput, plays a crucial role in regulating circadian rhythms, which are essential for maintaining the body′s internal clock and synchronizing physiological processes with the day-night cycle. Located primarily in the suprachiasmatic nucleus of the hypothalamus and the retina, Clock protein expression is vital for the proper functioning of the circadian system, influencing sleep-wake cycles, hormone release, and metabolic processes. As a member of the basic helix-loop-helix-PAS (bHLH-PAS) family of transcription factors, Clock protein interacts with other proteins, such as Period (Per) proteins, to form a feedback loop that regulates gene expression in a rhythmic manner. Mutations in Clock gene can disrupt these rhythms, leading to various health issues, including sleep disorders and metabolic syndromes.
