CLIM-1/2 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CLIM-1/2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLIM-1/2 (A-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CLIM-1/2, also known as LIM domain-binding factor-2, LDB1, CLP36, ELFIN, and CLP-36, is a crucial LIM domain-containing protein that plays a significant role in cellular signaling and transcriptional regulation. CLIM-1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and interacts with various transcription factors, facilitating the formation of transcriptional complexes essential for gene expression. CLIM-1′s location enables modulation of transcription factor activity in response to cellular signals, influencing processes such as muscle development and cellular differentiation. CLIM-1 localizes to actin stress fibers in nonmuscle cells and associates with alpha-actinin through PDZ domain, highlighting a role in cytoskeletal organization and cellular architecture. CLIM-1 expression is most abundant in heart and skeletal muscle, as shown by northern blot analysis revealing an approximately 2.0-kb transcript, underscoring relevance in muscle physiology and potential implications in muscle-related diseases.

Can CLIM-1/2 (A-3): sc-376030 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. Yes, CLIM-1/2 (A-3): sc-376030 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
