SEE ALSO...

CLIC4/5/6 Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CLIC4/5/6 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CLIC4/5/6 antibody (A-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CLIC4, also known as chloride intracellular channel 4, is a 253 amino acid single-pass membrane protein that forms selective ion channels essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling. CLIC4 is expressed in various tissues, including the placenta, heart, skeletal muscle, and epithelial cells of the kidney, colon, and esophagus, with localization to both nucleus and cytoplasm highlighting multifunctional nature. CLIC4 facilitates chloride and other ion transport vital for cell volume regulation and electrical excitability, making CLIC4 significant in physiological functions. CLIC5 and CLIC6 have distinct roles, with CLIC5 involved in actin-based cytoskeletal structure assembly and maintenance, while CLIC6 regulates chloride ion transport in water-secreting cells. CLIC6 interaction with dopamine receptors emphasizes these proteins′ importance in various signaling pathways.
