Clathrin LCB Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Clathrin LCB of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Clathrin LCB antibody (G-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Clathrin LCB plays a crucial role in receptor-mediated endocytosis, a process essential for cellular uptake of nutrients and signaling molecules. Clathrin LCB is primarily located in the cytosol, where assembly into clathrin-coated pits and vesicles occurs, budding from the plasma membrane and trans-Golgi network. Formation of a triskelion structure, composed of three heavy chains and three light chains, enables efficient vesicle formation. This structural organization facilitates membrane invagination and ensures selective sorting of cargo proteins, maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating intracellular transport. Light chain subunits, including Clathrin LCA and LCB, regulate coated vesicle formation, highlighting their importance in organelle biogenesis and endocytic pathways. Both LCA and LCB undergo alternative mRNA splicing, producing tissue-specific isoforms that influence clathrin-mediated processes, particularly in brain tissue where higher molecular weight isoforms form.

Can Clathrin LCB (G-7): sc-376414 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. Yes, Clathrin LCB (G-7): sc-376414 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
