CKAP5 Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CKAP5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CKAP5 (H-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CKAP5, also known as cytoskeleton-associated protein 5 or ch-TOG (colonic hepatic tumor overexpressed gene), is a 2,032 amino acid protein belonging to the TOG/XMAP215 family, characterized by the presence of nine heat repeats. CKAP5 is crucial for spindle microtubule organization during cell division, localizing to the perinuclear cytoplasm and spindle poles during interphase. Proper functioning of CKAP5 is vital for the formation of extrapoles in prometaphases, particularly in the absence of Ark-1, a mitotic centrosomal kinase that regulates spindle dynamics and is often overexpressed in tumors. CKAP5′s interactions with other proteins, such as heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A2, TACC1, TACC3, and Tubulin, further underscore its importance in cellular processes, including mitosis and maintenance of cytoskeletal integrity. Expression of CKAP5 is notably elevated in hepatomas and colonic tumors, highlighting its potential role in cancer biology and making anti-CKAP5 antibody (H-4) a valuable tool for research in cell division and tumorigenesis.
