CKAP4 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CKAP4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CKAP4 antibody (A-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CKAP4, also known as cytoskeleton-associated protein 4, p63, CLIMP-63, or ERGIC-63, is a 602 amino acid single-pass type II transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in linking the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the cytoskeleton, which is essential for maintaining the spatial distribution of the ER during the interphase of the cell cycle. CKAP4′s ability to anchor the ER to microtubules is vital for cellular organization and function, as this ensures proper ER morphology and distribution, which are critical for various cellular processes, including protein synthesis and lipid metabolism. CKAP4 can undergo post-translational modifications such as reversible palmitoylation and phosphorylation, with ZDHHC2 identified as a major palmitoyl acyltransferase for CKAP4. Additionally, CKAP4 has been shown to interact with the antiproliferative factor (APF), inhibiting APF activity on bladder epithelial cells, which highlights CKAP4′s potential role in regulating cell proliferation. Notably, two isoforms of CKAP4 exist due to alternative splicing, further diversifying CKAP4′s functional roles in cellular processes.
