Citrate synthase Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects citrate synthase in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Citrate synthase is a crucial 466 amino acid protein located in the mitochondrial matrix, serving as the first and rate-limiting enzyme of the tricarboxylic acid cycle, which is vital for cellular respiration and energy production. Anti-citrate synthase antibody (E-2) catalyzes the condensation of acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate to form citrate, a key intermediate in the metabolic pathway that not only fuels the production of ATP but also plays a significant role in the conversion of glucose to lipids, thereby influencing energy storage and utilization. Citrate synthase monoclonal antibody (E-2) extends beyond metabolic functions and is implicated in various diseases linked to mitochondrial dysfunction, including metabolic disorders and certain types of cancer. The gene encoding citrate synthase is located on human chromosome 12q13.2 and produces two alternatively spliced variants, CSa and CSb, which may have distinct regulatory roles in metabolism. With broad species reactivity and versatility in multiple applications, citrate synthase (E-2) antibody is an essential tool for researchers investigating mitochondrial function and related metabolic pathways.
