CIP2A Antibody (4A9-1A2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CIP2A in human, mouse, and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. The cancerous inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A (CIP2A), also known as p90 autoantigen or KIAA1524, is a single-pass membrane protein that plays a critical role in oncogenesis by inhibiting protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) activity. PP2A inhibition is significant as a vital tumor suppressor that regulates various cellular processes, including cell growth and division. By preventing c-Myc dephosphorylation, an oncogenic transcription factor, CIP2A stabilizes c-Myc, thereby promoting tumor formation and malignant cell proliferation. CIP2A interaction with PP2A′s catalytic subunit is crucial for oncogenic function, allowing human cell transformation progression. CIP2A overexpression occurs in several cancers, including colon, gastric, and head and neck squamous cell carcinomas, highlighting potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment.
