CHPT1 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CHPT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CHPT1 (F-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CHPT1 protein, also known as Cholinephosphotransferase 1, is a 406 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein primarily localized to the Golgi apparatus, where CHPT1 plays a crucial role in phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis from CDP-choline, a key component in vesicular membrane formation and maintenance. CHPT1 function is vital for cellular integrity and membrane dynamics, particularly in tissues with high membrane turnover, such as testis, small intestine, heart, colon, spleen, and prostate. CHPT1 expression is significantly elevated in cancerous breast cells compared to normal breast cell lines, and CHPT1 gene mutations have been identified in these cancerous cells, suggesting a potential role in tumorigenesis. Exposure to mustard gas markedly reduces CHPT1 gene expression and activity, which may contribute to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) pathophysiology. Two CHPT1 isoforms arise from alternative splicing, adding complexity to CHPT1 functional roles in various biological contexts.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-515577 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
