Datasheets
  • Chitotriosidase Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM κ Chitotriosidase antibody, cited in 2 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 150-215 mapping within an internal region of Chitotriosidase of human origin
  • recommended for detection of Chitotriosidase of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for Chitotriosidase Antibody (A-11) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with Chitotriosidase Antibody (A-11) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

SEE ALSO...

Chitotriosidase Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Chitotriosidase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Chitotriosidase antibody (A-11) is available as a non-conjugated format. Chitotriosidase, also known as CHIT1, plays a crucial role in degrading chitin, a polysaccharide found in arthropod exoskeletons and fungal cell walls. CHIT1 enzymatic activity helps combat chitin-containing pathogens, contributing to host defense mechanisms. Chitotriosidase is predominantly secreted by activated macrophages, and elevated plasma levels often indicate various pathological conditions, including Gaucher disease. Chitotriosidase expression in mice localizes to brain, skin, bone marrow, kidney, tongue, stomach, and testis, highlighting roles in both local and systemic immune responses. Structural similarities between Chitotriosidase and chitinases from lower organisms underscore evolutionary significance and functional conservation across species.

Can this antibody be use for tissue IHC? If so what is the recommended starting dilution?

Asked by: Jyap99
Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this mouse monoclonal IgM, Chitotriosidase Antibody (A-11): sc-271460, on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections so IHC(P) is not a recommended application at this time. We do recommend this antibody for IF, or immunofluorescent staining of methanol fixed cells, or acetone fixed fresh or frozen tissue sections.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with Chitotriosidase (A-11): sc-271460 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
