    SEE ALSO...

CHIC1/2 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CHIC1/2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CHIC1/2 (B-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CHIC2, also known as Cysteine-rich hydrophobic domain 2 protein, plays a crucial role in cellular processes by regulating exocytosis, which is essential for secretion of hormones, neurotransmitters, and other important molecules. This 165 amino acid membrane protein is primarily located at plasma membrane and vesicular structures, where cysteine-rich hydrophobic motif undergoes palmitoylation, a post-translational modification necessary for membrane association. CHIC2 is implicated in chromosomal translocations associated with acute myeloid leukemias, particularly t(4;12)(q11;p13) translocation, which leads to formation of a fusion protein with TEL gene, resulting in altered gene expression and cellular behavior. Additionally, in systemic mast cell disease with eosinophilia, deletions of CHIC2 can occur, leading to FIP1L1-PDGFR-α rearrangement, which produces a constitutively active PDGFR-α, further highlighting CHIC2′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
