CHDH Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CHDH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CHDH antibody (C-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Choline dehydrogenase (CHDH) is a crucial enzyme consisting of 594 amino acids and belongs to the GMC oxidoreductase family, playing a vital role in choline metabolism, an essential micronutrient that serves as a major source of methyl groups in the human diet. This FAD-dependent enzyme catalyzes the conversion of choline to betaine aldehyde, which is subsequently oxidized to betaine, a precursor of methionine, thereby influencing various biological processes, including methylation reactions that are critical for DNA synthesis and repair. CHDH exhibits highest activity in the kidney and liver, where CHDH is localized to the matrix side of the inner mitochondrial membrane, highlighting CHDH′s importance in cellular energy metabolism and homeostasis. Notably, estrogen regulates the gene encoding CHDH, suggesting CHDH′s potential as a biomarker for early-stage estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer, particularly in predicting anti-estrogen resistance. Additionally, polymorphisms in the CHDH gene have been associated with varying susceptibility to choline deficiency, underscoring CHDH′s significance in nutritional biochemistry and health.
