SEE ALSO...

CEP55 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CEP55 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CEP55 antibody (C-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CEP55, or centrosomal protein of 55 kDa, is a 464 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cell division by localizing to the centrosome during interphase and redistributing throughout the cell during mitosis. CEP55 interacts with key centrosome components for proper mitotic exit and cytokinesis. Several phosphorylation events during the cell cycle regulate CEP55 activity. Disruptions in CEP55 can lead to mitotic failure and have been linked to tumor progression, highlighting CEP55′s importance in cancer biology. Two isoforms of CEP55 arise from alternative splicing, further diversifying functional roles in cellular processes.

I am using CEP55 (C-4): sc-377018 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
