CENP-M Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CENP-M of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CENP-M antibody (B-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CENP-M, also known as centromere protein M, ICEN39, or PANE1, is a 180 amino acid protein that plays a pivotal role in the assembly of the kinetochore during mitosis, which is essential for accurate chromosome segregation. CENP-M is primarily localized in the nucleus of non-confluent cells and shifts to the cytoplasm in dividing or confluent cells, highlighting a dynamic role in cell division. CENP-M functions as a key component of the CENPA-NAC complex, which is crucial for the assembly and function of the centromere, a specialized chromatin structure that ensures proper chromosome alignment and segregation. CENP-M contributes to the incorporation of newly synthesized CENP-A into centromeres, further emphasizing an importance in maintaining genomic stability. Three isoforms of CENP-M exist due to alternative splicing, with isoform 3 being expressed in B-lineage chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) cells, suggesting a potential link to cancer development.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398754 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
