CENP-B Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CENP-B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CENP-B antibody (C-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CENP-B protein plays a crucial role in the structure and function of centromeres, which are essential for accurate chromosome segregation during cell division. Specifically, CENP-B binds to centromeric α-satellite DNA, facilitating the formation of higher-order chromatin structures that are vital for maintaining centromere integrity. This binding not only protects DNA from nuclease digestion but also ensures proper assembly of the kinetochore, the protein complex that mediates spindle fiber attachment to chromosomes. CENP-B presence is critical for sister chromatid cohesion, and dysfunction can lead to chromosomal instability, a hallmark of various cancers.
