CENP-B Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CENP-B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CENP-B antibody (F-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CENP-B protein plays a crucial role in the structure and function of centromeres, which are essential for accurate chromosome segregation during cell division. Specifically, CENP-B binds to centromeric alpha-satellite DNA, facilitating the formation of higher-order chromatin structures that are vital for maintaining centromere integrity. This binding not only protects DNA from nuclease digestion but also ensures proper assembly of the kinetochore, the protein complex that mediates spindle fiber attachment to chromosomes. CENP-B presence is critical for centromere stability, and dysfunction can lead to chromosomal instability, often associated with various cancers and genetic disorders. Using CENP-B monoclonal antibody (F-4) in research can provide valuable insights into chromosome dynamics and centromere protein roles in cellular processes.
