CEACAM5 Antibody (CI-P83-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CEACAM5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CEACAM5 antibody (CI-P83-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CEACAM5, also known as CD66e, is a heavily glycosylated glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling, particularly in tumor biology. CEACAM5 expression is significantly upregulated in various cancers, making CEACAM5 a valuable tumor marker for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. CEACAM5 is primarily located on the surface of epithelial cells, where CEACAM5 facilitates intercellular adhesion and communication, essential for maintaining tissue integrity and regulating immune responses. CEACAM5 presence on tumor cells can promote tumor progression and metastasis, highlighting CEACAM5′s importance as a target for cancer immunotherapy. With diverse applications and critical role in cancer biology, CEACAM5 monoclonal antibody (CI-P83-1) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying tumor markers and cell adhesion mechanisms.

May I know what is "CEA-180" used to raise this antibody? If it is the CEACAM5 protein, how it was expressed? Thanks

Asked by: Jun Yan
Thank you for your question. CEACAM5 (CI-P83-1) is reactive in CEACAM5; non cross-reactive with CD66c, CD66a or granulocytes. Here is a link for more information on the Gene : https://www.uniprot.org/uniprotkb/P06731/entry.

Is it possible to use the HRP conjugated form sc-23928 HRP in both Western Blot and IP?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. We actually do not recommend the use of the HRP conjugated form in IP. The unconjugated form of the antibody is the best choice when working in multiple applications that do not use the same conjugation (Agarose, Biotin, HRP, FITC, etc.).
