SEE ALSO...

CDYL Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CDYL protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CDYL antibody (E-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CDYL protein, part of a gene family expressed exclusively in the testis, is located on a region of the Y chromosome that is often deleted in cases of male infertility. CDYL features two functional domains: an N-terminal chromodomain that may play a role in heterochromatin interactions, and a C-terminal domain resembling enoyl-CoA isomerase, which is crucial for fatty acid oxidation. CDYL functions as a histone acetyltransferase with a strong preference for histone H4, a modification essential for the transition from histones to protamines during spermatogenesis, thereby linking CDYL to male fertility. CDYL is a ubiquitous nuclear protein expressed at moderate levels across various tissues, and the gene encoding CDYL is located on chromosome 6p25.1, highlighting CDYL′s potential significance in both reproductive biology and broader cellular functions.
