SEE ALSO...

Cdx1 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Cdx1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cdx1 (D-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cdx1, a member of the caudal-type homeobox gene family, plays a crucial role in the development and differentiation of the intestinal epithelium. Specifically, Cdx1 maintains the intestinal phenotype and regulates cellular growth and differentiation within the intestinal tract. Cdx1 is expressed in both fetal and adult small intestine and colon, and Cdx1 expression is vital for proper anterior-posterior patterning along the crypt-villus axis. Notably, the balance of Cdx1 and Cdx2 expression is significant, as a decrease in either protein is linked to colorectal tumorigenesis, highlighting their roles in tumor suppression and cellular apoptosis. The human Cdx1 gene is located on chromosome 5q31-q33 and encodes a 265-amino acid protein, underscoring its importance in intestinal health and disease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the function we knowedCdx1 genes must be expressed to reduce tumorigenic potential, to increase sensitivity to apoptosis and to reduce cell migration, suggesting that the two genes control the normal phenotype by independent pathways. The human Cdx1 gene maps to chromosome 5q31-q33 and encodes a 265-amino acid protein.
