SEE ALSO...

Cdk5 Antibody (DC 17) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody specifically designed to detect cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5), also known as PSSALRE, a pivotal protein involved in neuronal development and function. Cdk5 monoclonal antibody (DC 17) is raised against the recombinant full-length human Cdk5 protein and is reactive with Cdk5 from mouse, rat, human, and Drosophila species, making Cdk5 (DC 17) antibody ideal for applications such as western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, and ELISA. Cdk5 is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm of neurons, where Cdk5 interacts with activator proteins p35 and p39 to regulate essential processes like neuronal migration, synaptic plasticity, and neurotransmitter release. Proper functioning of Cdk5 is crucial for maintaining neuronal structure and connectivity, and Cdk5 dysregulation has been implicated in various neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer′s disease. By phosphorylating key substrates, Cdk5 modulates critical signaling pathways that underpin neuronal connectivity and plasticity, making Cdk5 a significant target for studying both normal neuronal physiology and pathological conditions. Cdk5 monoclonal antibody (DC 17) is available in multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC, and several Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing researchers with versatile options to suit diverse experimental needs. Cdk5 (DC 17) antibody enables precise detection and comprehensive study of Cdk5, facilitating advancements in understanding Cdk5′s role in neurobiology and implications in neurological disorders.

Can you recommend a positive control to use with Cdk5 (DC 17): sc-249 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: TinTin
We recommend HeLa + PMA nuclear extract : sc-2121, HeLa nuclear extract : sc-2120, Jurkat nuclear extract : sc-2132 or K-562 + PMA nuclear extract : sc-2131 to use as positive controls as we have great Western blot data showing specific detection of Cdk5 in these cell lines.
