CD72 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CD72 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD72 (G-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD72 functions as a negative regulator of B cell activation, which is vital for maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing overactive immune responses. CD72 is expressed on the surface of B cells from the pro-B stage through to mature B cells, and CD72 interacts with CD5, another important regulator of T cell activation. The human CD72 gene is located on chromosome 9p13.3 and encodes a transmembrane glycoprotein that features an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibition motif (ITIM). Upon activation, CD72′s ITIM undergoes tyrosine phosphorylation, which facilitates the recruitment of SH2-containing phosphatases like SHP-1, leading to the downregulation of B cell activation. This regulatory mechanism is essential for preventing excessive B cell proliferation, as evidenced by the hyperproliferative B cells observed in CD72-deficient mice. Anti-CD72 antibody (G-5) enables researchers to gain valuable insights into the intricate balance of immune responses and CD72′s role in B cell regulation.
