Does this antibody (CD63 Antibody (MX-49.129.5) recognize a cytosolic or luminal/extracellular domain of CD63? i.e has it been epitope mapped?

Thank you for your question. CD63 Antibody (MX-49.129.5): sc-5275 has been raised against full length CD63 of human origin. So far, no epitope mapping has been performed for this antibody, so we cannot say whether it binds the cytosolic or extracellular domain of its target protein.

why the nucleus was stained in hela cell when I used this antibody for IF

Where exactly the band is observed in Western Blot? And What was the predicted band size in Western Blot?

Thank you for your question. The molecular weight of CD63 core protein is 26 kDa. However, due to heavy glycosylation, CD63 may produce bands ranging from 30 to 60 kDa. You can find further information in publication PMID 1993697.

This antibody was not detected in the immunocytochemistry of mouse cell line c2c12 cells and was not detected in the western blot of C2C12 cell lysate. Does this antibody really interact with the mouse-derived CD63?

Will this antibody detect CD63 in Canine or Feline samples?

To my knowledge CD63 has a predicted mol. weight of approx. 25kDA, yet the blot shown for this product contains a band of much higher weight. Will this antibody specifically identify CD63 in Mouse?

Thank you for your question. Yes, this antibody is specific for the detection of CD63 or mouse, rat and human origin. According to the literature, CD63 has a predicted molecular weight of 25 kDa for the core protein, however the protein is heavily glycosylated and can be detected ranging from 30-60 kDa.
