CD47 Antibody (MIAP301) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects the immunoglobulin domain of CD47 of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD47 Antibody (MIAP301) is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing versatility for various experimental needs. CD47 is an integral membrane protein that plays a crucial role in regulating cation fluxes across cell membranes, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling. Specifically, CD47 is involved in the increase of intracellular calcium concentration that occurs upon cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix, a process that is essential for various cellular functions, including migration, proliferation, and survival. Additionally, CD47 serves as a receptor for the C-terminal cell binding domain of thrombospondin, which is important for mediating cell-cell interactions and influencing immune responses. Notably, CD47 is absent from Rh-null erythrocytes, yet CD47 plays a significant role in cell adhesion in non-erythroid cells and may help prevent the premature elimination of erythrocytes. Furthermore, CD47 is expressed on a variety of cell types, including hemopoietic cells, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, with particularly strong expression in brain and mesenchymal cells, highlighting CD47′s importance in both normal physiology and pathological conditions.
