CD42c Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CD42c protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD42c (F-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD42c protein, also known as the β chain of the glycoprotein Ib-IX complex, plays a crucial role in hemostasis by mediating platelet adhesion to the vascular endothelium through interaction with von Willebrand factor. This interaction is vital for forming a stable platelet plug during injury, highlighting CD42c′s importance in preventing excessive bleeding. CD42c protein is primarily located on the surface of platelets and megakaryocytes, where CD42c forms a noncovalent complex with CD42b, also known as glycoprotein Ib α. CD42c′s presence on these cells is essential for their function in the coagulation cascade, making CD42c protein a significant target for research in thrombosis and related disorders.
