SEE ALSO...

CD42a Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CD42a protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD42a (A-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD42a is a single-chain membrane glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in hemostasis by forming a noncovalent complex with CD42b, also known as glycoprotein Ib α (GPIb α). This complex is essential for platelet adhesion to the vascular endothelium, particularly in response to injury, as CD42a serves as a receptor for von Willebrand′s factor, facilitating the initial steps of platelet aggregation. The interaction between CD42a and CD42b is vital for maintaining normal blood clotting processes, and any dysfunction in this complex can lead to bleeding disorders. Anti-CD42a antibody (A-9) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying platelet biology and related pathologies, providing insights into the mechanisms of thrombosis and hemostatic regulation.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-166420 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
