SEE ALSO...

CD33 Antibody (P67.6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CD33 protein of human origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD33 antibody (P67.6) is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. CD33 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein predominantly expressed on granulocyte and macrophage precursors in the bone marrow, while CD33 is notably absent from pluripotent stem cells, making CD33 a critical marker for identifying myelogenous leukemia cells as opposed to lymphoid or erythroid leukemias. CD33 plays a significant role as a sialic acid-dependent cell adhesion molecule, which is essential for mediating interactions between cells in the immune system. This function is particularly important as CD33 influences the migration and adhesion of immune cells, thereby impacting immune responses and inflammation. Understanding the role of CD33 in cell adhesion can provide insights into CD33′s potential as a therapeutic target in various hematological malignancies.

is it suitable for western blot?

Asked by: Vins
Thank you very much for your question. The sc-19660 is recommended for detection of CD33 of human origin by IF and FCM. If you have an interest in testing a free 10 µg sample of CD33 Antibody (P67.6) sc-19660 in western blot please contact Technical Service by phone or email or by Live Chat.

What negative control should be used when using the conjugated version of CD33 (P67.6): sc-19660 monoclonal antibody in flow cytometry?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend using the isotype specific normal mouse IgG conjugated to the same fluorophore. For example, if you are using sc-19660 PE, then you would want to use normal mouse IgG1 PE, sc-2866.
