CD3 Antibody (17A2) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody designed to recognize mouse CD3, recommended for assays like immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD3, also known as the T cell co-receptor complex or the TCR-CD3 complex, is located on the surface of T lymphocytes where CD3 plays a crucial role in T cell receptor (TCR) signaling. This localization is essential for the activation and regulation of T cells, enabling T cells to respond effectively to foreign antigens. The CD3 complex consists of five invariant polypeptide chains, gamma, epsilon, delta, zeta, and eta, that form three distinct dimers, each containing immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs (ITAMs). These ITAMs are vital for initiating intracellular signaling cascades by recruiting protein kinases such as ZAP-70 and Syk, which are necessary for T cell activation and proliferation.
