CD223 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CD223 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD223 (D-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD223, also known as Lymphocyte activation gene-3 (LAG-3), plays a crucial role in immune regulation by acting as a high-affinity ligand for major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules, which are essential for T cell activation and function. Located on the surface of CD4(+)CD8(+) T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, CD223 shares structural similarities with CD4, featuring four extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains that facilitate interaction with MHC class II. This structural homology is significant as CD223 modulates T cell responses, particularly by downregulating T cell receptor signaling, which is vital for maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing overactive immune responses.
