CD1B Antibody (O249) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the CD1B protein of human origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD1B antibody (O249) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. CD1B is a member of the CD1 multigene family, which encodes five distinct forms of the CD1 T-cell surface glycoprotein in humans, namely CD1A, CD1B, CD1C, CD1D, and CD1E. CD1B plays a crucial role in the immune system by presenting lipid antigens to T lymphocytes, which is essential for the recognition of lipid-based pathogens and the activation of specific immune responses. CD1B is primarily located on the surface of various immune cells, including cortical thymocytes, Langerhans cells, and certain dendritic cells, highlighting its importance in immune surveillance and response. CD1B interaction with β-2-Microglobulin is vital for stability and function, and CD1B trafficking is regulated by adaptor-protein complexes and CD1-associated chaperones, ensuring proper antigen presentation. Additionally, constitutive endocytosis of CD1B and differential sorting during dendritic cell maturation are critical for separating peptide- and lipid antigen-presenting pathways, further emphasizing CD1B′s role in immune regulation. Human CD1 genes are closely linked in a cluster located at chromosome 1q 22-23, underscoring their evolutionary significance and functional interdependence.

How can CD1B (O249): sc-19997 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-19997 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-19997 FITC).
