CD1A Antibody (CTB6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the CD1A protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CD1A antibody (CTB6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The CD1 multigene family encodes five forms of the CD1 T-cell surface glycoprotein in humans, namely CD1A, CD1B, CD1C, CD1D, and CD1E, which are crucial for the immune response as they present lipid antigens to T lymphocytes. CD1A, in particular, is predominantly expressed on Langerhans cells and is a key marker for Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH), highlighting CD1A′s importance in both immune surveillance and pathology. CD1A′s location on the cell surface is vital for CD1A′s role in antigen presentation, as CD1A allows for direct interaction with T cells, facilitating the recognition of lipid antigens. Additionally, CD1A′s association with β-2-Microglobulin and CD1A′s trafficking regulated by adaptor-protein complexes and chaperones underscore CD1A′s significance in the development and activation of CD1-restricted T cells. The human CD1 genes are closely linked in a cluster on chromosome 1q23.1, emphasizing their evolutionary conservation and functional interdependence in immune responses.
