SEE ALSO...

CD155 Antibody (SKII.4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CD155 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD155 antibody (SKII.4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD155, a crucial member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, serves as the primary receptor for poliovirus, facilitating viral entry into host cells. CD155′s structure contains multiple immunoglobulin-like domains that contribute to binding affinity for poliovirus serotypes 1, 2, and 3, which utilize a shared mechanism for cell entry. CD155 is involved in cell-matrix interactions through binding to vitronectin, a matrix protein that plays a significant role in cell adhesion and migration. Soluble isoforms of CD155 in human serum and cerebrospinal fluid, including alpha, beta, and gamma forms, highlight functional diversity and regulatory potential in immune responses. These soluble forms can inhibit poliovirus entry by competing with the membrane-bound receptor, underscoring their importance in modulating viral infections and maintaining cellular homeostasis.

Can CD155 (SKII.4): sc-53572 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CD155 (SKII.4): sc-53572 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
