CD14 Antibody (UCH-M1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody raised against human thymocytes and Sezary T cells, recommended for the detection of CD14 monocyte-specific cell surface protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD14, also known as the monocyte differentiation antigen CD14 or myeloid cell-specific leucine-rich glycoprotein, is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein expressed on the surface of monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. Located on the outer surface of the plasma membrane, CD14 serves as a co-receptor for lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and other pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs), playing a crucial role in the innate immune response by recognizing bacterial components and initiating signal transduction pathways that lead to cytokine production.
