CCRK Antibody (L-35) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects CCRK in human samples through applications such as immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CCRK, also known as p42 or CDCH, is a 346 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth by catalytically phosphorylating the Thr 160 residue on cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (Cdk2), thereby activating Cdk2 and facilitating cell cycle progression. This function positions CCRK as a potential oncogene in various carcinomas, including glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive primary brain tumor. CCRK overexpression has been linked to increased tumor growth rates in glioblastoma, while suppression reduces these rates, underscoring CCRK′s significance in tumor biology. CCRK exists as a monomer and is expressed in three different isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms in cellular processes. Anti-CCRK antibody (L-35) serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating CCRK′s role in cancer and cell cycle regulation.

Can sc-81838: CCRK (L-35) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-81838: CCRK (L-35) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
