CCRK Antibody (885CT27.1.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CCRK protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-CCRK antibody (885CT27.1.1) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. CCRK, also known as cell cycle related kinase, p42, or CDCH, is a crucial 346 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a significant role in regulating cell growth and cell cycle. CCRK is primarily located in the nucleus, where CCRK catalytically phosphorylates the Thr 160 residue on cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (Cdk2), a key player in cell cycle progression. This phosphorylation event activates Cdk2, allowing the cell cycle to move forward, which is essential for normal cellular function and division. Dysregulation of CCRK has been implicated in various carcinomas, including glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive brain tumor, where CCRK overexpression correlates with increased tumor growth rates. CCRK′s ability to influence cell cycle events positions CCRK as a potential oncogene, making CCRK a target of interest for cancer research. Additionally, CCRK exists as a monomer and is expressed in three different isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to CCRK′s functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms in different cellular contexts.
