CCDC109A Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CCDC109A protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CCDC109A (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CCDC109A, also known as mitochondrial calcium uniporter (MCU), is a crucial 351 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein located in the inner mitochondrial membrane, where CCDC109A plays a vital role in regulating calcium ion transport into mitochondria. This calcium influx is essential for various cellular processes, including energy production, apoptosis, and cellular signaling, highlighting CCDC109A′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and metabolic function. CCDC109A exists as a homooligomer and interacts with calcium binding atopy-related autoantigen 1 (CBARA1), which further underscores CCDC109A′s significance in calcium signaling pathways. CCDC109A is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 10, a region that harbors over 800 genes and is associated with several critical biological functions and disorders, including tumor suppression and DNA repair mechanisms. Multiple alternatively spliced isoforms of CCDC109A add another layer of complexity to CCDC109A′s functional diversity, making CCDC109A a key target for research in mitochondrial biology and related diseases.
