CBS Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects cystathionine β-synthase (CBS) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CBS is a crucial cytoplasmic protein predominantly expressed in the human liver and pancreas, with lower levels found in the heart and brain, and plays a vital role in the first step of homocysteine transulfuration. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of homocysteine, a potentially harmful amino acid, into cystathionine, utilizing pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor.
