CBP20 Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CBP20 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CBP20 (B-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CBP20 plays a crucial role in mRNA metabolism, particularly in the context of the cap-binding complex (CBC), which is essential for pre-mRNA splicing, 3′ end formation, and U snRNA export. The CBC is composed of two cap-binding proteins, CBP20 and CBP80, which work together to enhance m(7)G cap functions added to most eukaryotic mRNAs. This cap structure is vital for mRNA stability and translation, facilitating eIF-4F translation initiation factor recruitment and regulating nonsense-mediated decay (NMD), a process eliminating faulty mRNAs. CBP20′s interaction with CBP80 is critical, as CBP20′s RNAP fold associates with CBP80′s second and third MIF4G domains.
