CB1 Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CB1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CB1 antibody (C-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CB1, a member of the G-protein coupled receptor family, plays a crucial role in mediating the effects of psychoactive cannabinoids by inhibiting adenylate cyclase activity, which is vital for regulating neurotransmitter release and neuronal excitability. Predominantly expressed in the brain, CB1 is also found in lower levels in the testis, highlighting CB1′s significance in central nervous system functions such as pain perception, motor control, memory, and neuroendocrine regulation. Notably, phosphorylation of CB1 at serine 316 has been shown to disrupt CB1′s inhibitory effects on calcium channels while activating potassium currents, indicating a complex regulatory mechanism that may influence various brain functions and potentially contribute to the addictive behaviors associated with substances like THC found in marijuana. CB1 (C-11) antibody′s ability to effectively detect and characterize CB1 makes CB1 (C-11) antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying cannabinoid signaling pathways and their implications in both physiological and pathological conditions.

2. since the Ab was from mouse, how could we avoid cross reaction by secondary Ab when the sample was mouse? should we using Fab or serum (source as secondary Ab) to block sample before incubating with 2nd Ab?wanting some useful guiding protocols.

1. the immunogen of the antibody was from N-terminal (1-150) of CB1, so when we tried to dual-stain using this Ab with other Abs in IF assay, we failed to co-localize multple receptor proteins. why not consider changing immunogen from N to C?

I am doing Western Blot (antibody was diluted1:500) and there are very sharp bands on ~38 kDa, some weak bands are also visible on ~65 kDa, but even when the exposure time is 35 minutes those 65 kDa bands are weak. Should I take the 38 kDa bands as CB1R?
