    SEE ALSO...

Cathepsin O Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects cathepsin O protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cathepsin O antibody (E-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cathepsin O, also known as CTSO, is a member of the cysteine protease class within the cathepsin family, which plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by participating in peptide biosynthesis and protein degradation. This endoproteinase is particularly important for extracellular matrix remodeling, which is vital for processes such as tissue repair and development. Cathepsin O is predominantly expressed in the ovary, kidney, and placenta, with lower expression levels in the thymus and skeletal muscle, highlighting its significance in reproductive and renal physiology. Cathepsin O maintains essential structural features characteristic of cysteine proteinases, including an active site cysteine residue that facilitates covalent intermediate formation during peptide hydrolysis, underscoring its enzymatic function in proteolytic activity.
