casein kinase Iε (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects casein kinase I epsilon protein (also designated KC1E, Casein Kinase 1 Epsilon, Casein Kinase I Isoform Epsilon, CKIepsilon, HCKIE, CKIe, or CKIE) in mouse, rat and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-casein kinase I epsilon antibody (A-2) is available as a non-conjugated form. Casein kinase I (CKI) and casein kinase II (CKII) form a family of serine/threonine protein kinases present in all eukaryotes examined to date. Casein kinase I family members, including casein kinase Iα, Iγ, Iδ and Ie, play roles in controlling cytoplasmic and nuclear processes, including DNA replication and repair. CKII typically exists as a tetrameric complex with either an α2β2 or an αα′β2 structure. The α catalytic subunit receives stimulation from the β regulatory subunit, which undergoes autophosphorylation. CKII activity shows high levels in the cytosol and nucleus of proliferating and differentiating cells. CKII phosphorylates over 100 different substrates, including nuclear oncoproteins, transcription factors and enzymes involved in DNA metabolism.
