    SEE ALSO...

Carbonyl reductase 1/2/3 Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Carbonyl reductase 1/2/3 (CBR1/2/3) of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CBR1/2/3 antibody (E-5) is available as a non-conjugated format. CBR1 and CBR3 proteins function as key components of the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase family, primarily metabolizing various carbonyl compounds produced during lipid peroxidation. CBR1/2/3 proteins localize in the cytosol, catalyzing NADPH-dependent reduction of carbonyls to corresponding alcohols - a process essential for detoxifying harmful metabolites and regulating cellular redox states. Proper CBR1/2/3 enzyme function maintains metabolic homeostasis by metabolizing endogenous compounds and influencing drug pharmacokinetics. Genetic variations in CBR1/2/3 genes can cause individual differences in drug metabolism, impacting personalized medicine approaches. CBR1/2/3 protein defects have been associated with various conditions, including cancer and diabetes, underscoring their significance in normal physiology and disease states.

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using Carbonyl reductase 1/2/3 (E-5): sc-377174?

    Asked by: Germaine
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane.
