SEE ALSO...

CAR Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CAR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CAR antibody (E-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The coxsackie and adenovirus receptor (CAR) plays a crucial role in mediating viral infections by facilitating the binding of various adenoviruses through specific protein interactions. CAR is predominantly located on the surface of epithelial cells, where expression levels directly influence adenoviral infection efficiency. Cells expressing low CAR levels show reduced susceptibility to adenoviral entry, creating challenges for gene therapy applications using adenoviral vectors. Understanding CAR cellular localization remains essential for optimizing viral delivery systems and enhancing gene therapy strategies. Targeting CAR expression or modifying adenoviral knobs to interact with alternative receptors can potentially overcome limitations posed by low CAR expression in certain cell types, improving therapeutic outcomes.

How can CAR (E-1): sc-373791 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to HRP (sc-373791 HRP), phycoerythrin (sc-373791 PE), fluoroscein (sc-373791 FITC) and AlexaFluors.
