    SEE ALSO...

CapZ-α Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CapZ-alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CapZ-alpha antibody (H-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CapZ-alpha protein plays a crucial role in regulating actin dynamics by capping barbed ends of actin filaments, preventing further polymerization and maintaining cellular structure and motility. Such regulation is vital for numerous cellular processes, including muscle contraction, cell migration, and intracellular transport. CapZ-alpha protein forms a heterodimeric complex with a beta subunit, maintaining the balance of actin filament assembly and disassembly critical for cellular integrity and function. CapZ-α1, the alpha subunit of this complex, interacts with various signaling molecules, including S-100 β chain, involved in calcium-sensitive signaling pathways linked to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer′s. CapZ-α monoclonal antibody (H-9) effectively detects and characterizes this important protein, making this antibody valuable for researchers studying actin dynamics and related cellular processes.

Can CapZ-α (H-9): sc-374302 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, CapZ-α (H-9): sc-374302 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
