    SEE ALSO...

Calpain 13 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Calpain 13 (CAPN13) of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CAPN13 antibody (A-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CAPN13, also known as Sol H, is a unique member of the calpain family, characterized by its divergence from other calpains. CAPN13 plays a crucial role in intracellular protein processing, which is essential for various cellular functions, including cell cycle regulation and apoptosis. CAPN13 is composed of four distinct domains and consists of 423 amino acid residues, with a limited tissue distribution primarily found in the human brain, testis, and lung. Notably, CAPN13 is a homolog of the Drosophila optic lobe gene product Sol, highlighting its evolutionary significance. CAPN13′s structure, which allows for the formation of heterodimers with varying large subunits, is vital for enzymatic activity and functional versatility. CAPN13′s ability to operate independently of its small subunit further emphasizes its importance in cellular signaling pathways and proteolytic processes.
