    SEE ALSO...

Calcyon Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Calcyon protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Calcyon antibody (G-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Calcyon protein is a single transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in modulating D1 dopamine receptors, which are the most prevalent dopamine receptors in the central nervous system. These receptors are essential for regulating synaptic transmission, influencing behaviors, and facilitating neuron growth and differentiation. Calcyon is predominantly located in neuronal cell bodies and processes of the cortex and hippocampus, with notable abundance in pyramidal neurons. The interaction between Calcyon and D1 receptors leads to the release of intracellular calcium, a vital signaling molecule that affects various cellular processes, including neurotransmitter release and neuronal excitability. Understanding the function and interactions of Calcyon is important for elucidating its role in neurophysiological processes and potential implications in neurological disorders.
