    SEE ALSO...

Cables1 Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Cables1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cables1 (D-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cables1, consisting of 568 amino acids, plays a crucial role in linking the Abelson (Abl) tyrosine kinase to cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5), which is essential for neuronal signaling and development. The interaction between Cables1 and Cdk5 is particularly important as Cables1 acts as a substrate for phosphorylation by the Cdk5/p35 kinase, thereby regulating Cdk5 activity and localization within the neuron. Additionally, Cables1 contains six potential SH3 binding motifs clustered at its amino-terminus, which facilitate interaction with Abl, forming a trimolecular complex that co-localizes in cortical axons, especially in growth cones. This complex functions as an adaptor or scaffolding mechanism, ensuring proper signaling pathways are activated during neuronal development and maintenance. Understanding Cables1 dynamics and interactions is vital, as disruptions in these pathways can lead to neurodevelopmental disorders and other neurological conditions.
