SEE ALSO...

CA VIII Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CA VIII protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CA VIII antibody (E-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CA VIII protein, also known as carbonic anhydrase-related protein VIII, is a unique member of the carbonic anhydrase family that lacks the essential zinc-binding motif required for catalytic activity. This absence of enzymatic function suggests CA VIII may play a critical role in cellular processes beyond traditional carbonic anhydrase activity, particularly in synaptic vesicle formation and transport, which is vital for neurotransmitter release and neuronal communication. Furthermore, CA VIII has been implicated in the invasiveness of non-small cell lung carcinomas and may contribute to the proliferation of colon cancer cells, highlighting potential significance in cancer biology. CA VIII (E-4) antibody′s diverse applications make this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the multifaceted roles of CA VIII in both normal physiology and disease states.

Are there any issues with using sc-166626: CA VIII (E-4) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-166626 conjugates.
