CA VII Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CA VII protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CA VII antibody (G-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a diverse family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide, playing crucial roles in numerous physiological processes such as respiration, acid-base balance, and the formation of bodily fluids like saliva and cerebrospinal fluid. CA VII, also known as carbonate dehydratase VII, is a highly conserved mammalian carbonic anhydrase that is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and is expressed at low levels throughout various tissues, with significant expression in the brain and salivary glands. CA VII′s role in the central nervous system is particularly noteworthy, as CA VII may influence GABAergic excitation in neurons, potentially contributing to the pathophysiology of neurological disorders such as epilepsy and Alzheimer′s disease. Given CA VII′s high expression in the brain, CA VII could serve as a valuable target for developing pharmacological agents aimed at managing these conditions, making CA VII (G-7) monoclonal antibody an essential tool for researchers investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying these disorders.
