CA III Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects carbonic anhydrase III (CA III) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CA III is a 260 amino acid cytoplasmic protein predominantly expressed in muscle tissue, where CA III plays a crucial role in regulating pH and facilitating the transport of carbon dioxide and bicarbonate across cell membranes. CA III is part of the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family and is activated by proton donors like imidazole, which enhances enzymatic activity, while being inhibited by compounds such as coumarins and sulfonamide derivatives, including acetazolamide.
